The far west Fort Worth development Walsh is continuing to expand its residential offerings with a walkable neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The 7,200-acre mixed use development 12 minutes from downtown Fort Worth is adding 138 new homes in a neighborhood phase called \u201cThe Village.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new neighborhood is unique because it will be adjacent to future retail, including restaurants and shops.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey can walk everywhere,\u201d said Jim Henry, senior vice president of community operations at Republic Property Group, the lead Walsh developer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Village\u201d will include 35- and 50-foot lots as well as townhomes with enclosed front courtyards. It will feature offerings from builders including David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, High Street Homes and Village Homes.<\/p>\n

Townhomes are expected to start in the mid-$400,000s, and homes on larger lots will start in the mid-$500,000s. The new architectural style of this phase will be slightly more urban, Henry said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could see first-time homebuyers. I could see young singles and young couples, maybe with one child. But I can also see empty-nesters being in that sort of small \u2018urban\u2019 core,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Henry expects construction will begin within 90 days.<\/p>\n

The new neighborhood\u2019s homes will be near the Village Market, Athletic Club, resort-style pools and multiple neighborhood parks. The development also includes parks, lakes, pools, community gardens and miles of bike trails. In the future.<\/p>\n

These new homes will be in the Aledo school district.<\/p>\n
