The much-anticipated new neighborhood being built in west Fort Worth just 12 minutes from downtown? The Walsh storefront, located at 172 W 4th Street, serves as a one-stop shop for all things Walsh: hosting presales meetings with prospective homebuyers and homebuilders, offering augmented reality tours of the neighborhood, and connecting with realtors and the community through a series of downtown events. \u201cBringing the Walsh neighborhood experience to downtown Fort Worth is a unique opportunity to honor the history and making of this development, and gives us the chance to showcase a day in the life at Walsh to people as they\u2019re enjoying the shops, restaurants, and events in Sundance Square,\u201d said Jake Wagner, Co-CEO of Republic Property Group, the lead developers working in partnership on the community with the Walsh family.<\/p>\n
At full build-out, Walsh will be the size of a small town. The neighborhood is centered in west Fort Worth where Interstate 20 and I-30 merge, off of Exit 1A (Walsh Ranch Parkway). The initial phase of the development features hundreds of single-family homes, an elementary school, a market, a gym and multiple pools, a co-working building, a Makerspace, miles of hike and bike trails, and a host of other amenities serving the neighborhood\u2019s new residents.<\/p>\n
Homes at Walsh are priced from the upper $200,000s, and follow a carefully curated selection of architectural styles. \u201cWe want to create a sense of place at Walsh that still feels relevant 100 years from now,\u201d Wagner said. There are a variety of styles available that will appeal to different homeowner tastes, including Arts and Crafts, Colonial, Mediterranean, Texas Vernacular, Transitional, and Tudor designs\u2013all chosen because of their timeless beauty and historical reflection of the distinctive homes throughout Fort Worth. The 587 home sites in the initial development phase range from 3,850 square feet to nearly an acre, and are all within a five-minute walk of a community park.<\/p>\n
The team at RPG has carefully selected homebuilders for Walsh\u2019s initial phase, too. Wagner mentioned having a mix of local, regional and national homebuilders as a key strength in offering a variety of home types, with something for everyone. In designing Walsh, Wagner said the team thought long and hard about the amenities needed by residents of a small town. For that reason, the first phase at Walsh will debut later this year with not only homes, but The Village\u2013a place to bring people together for entertainment, education, fitness, food, events and more. Among the unique community amenities at Walsh are a market and filling station, a 10,000-square-foot gym and Junior Olympic lap pool, family pools and a recreational lagoon, a co-working space, sports courts of all kinds, Imagination Playgrounds, and a Makerspace.<\/p>\n
Homes at Walsh are wired with fastest internet speeds in the country. Yes, you read that right! To create a modern neighborhood that would be relevant decades from now, the team at Walsh installed a world-class fiber infrastructure to support connected homes, as well as future businesses and growth in the area. Homes are equipped with 2-gigabit internet speeds from provider Frog as the standard; making internet connectivity at Walsh twice as fast as any residential internet you\u2019d find elsewhere in North Texas. And, homeowners won\u2019t even see an internet bill. Wagner says that internet service costs will be included in HOA fees.<\/p>\n
Walsh observes what Wagner calls a \u201ccareful balance of the relationship between technology of nature,\u201d and the development team has dedicated more than one-third of the land at Walsh to be set aside as community parks or open space. Encouraging residents to tap into the fundamental human need to be outdoors is important, and evident in the neighborhood\u2019s plans for multiple parks, miles of hike and bike trails, gardens and more. The team at Walsh is even working to preserve and reestablish open spaces in the community with the planting of native grasses, trees and landscaping, in partnership with the Botanical Research Institute of Texas.<\/p>\n
